PELOTON CAPITAL MANAGEMENT BECOMES PRI SIGNATORY

TORONTO – December 1, 2020 – Peloton Capital Management (PCM) today announced its inclusion as a signatory with the UN Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI), the world’s leading proponent of responsible investing. This designation is a public demonstration of PCM’s commitment to include environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in our investment decision making, risk mitigation and as part of our strategy for generating superior long-term returns.

The PRI is guided by six Principles for Responsible Investment. Developed by investors, for investors, these are a voluntary and aspirational set of investment principles that provide possible avenues to incorporate ESG issues into investment practice. The six principles are:

  1. We will incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.

  2. We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.

  3. We will seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.

  4. We will promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.

  5. We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.

  6. We will each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.

In becoming a signatory with the PRI, Peloton Capital Management is contributing to the development of a more sustainable global system. PCM seeks to adhere to responsible investment practices throughout the investment process from deal sourcing to execution to portfolio company management and governance. PCM is taking steps to actively align the short- and long-term interests of its employees, limited partners, portfolio companies , local communities, and the environment.  This will be accomplished by continuing to integrate leading environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards both internally and throughout the investment process. Integration of ESG factors creates both direct and indirect benefits for stakeholders manifested in such ways as increased safety, higher employee retention, low environmental impact, reduced costs, more efficient use of time and resources and a more creative, productive work environment. Finally, PCM believes that consideration of ESG factors facilitates more robust due-diligence and investment processes crucial to achieving superior risk adjusted returns.
